Development of water extraction system for liquid scintillator purification of JUNO

The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) uses 20k tons of liquid scintillator (LS)to detect neutrinos. content radioactive substances in the will affect theexperimental results. JUNO use counter current water extraction to reduce metalions inside LS. In this article, factors that final like partitioncoefficient and it, optimal mass transfer droplet size, flow rate ratio,theoretical stage different working mode (LS as continuous phase or dispersed phase) have beenstudied. We built prototype laboratory a pilot plant Daya Bay.We not only study above, but also get lot engineering experience worth sharing.
